70 Charger filler tube to trunk floor seal placement?

My new seal has metal embedded around the edge and a small ridge up from the perimeter. Should the ridge point up or down?

i went down, so it adds a bit of extra seal to the floor when it compresses. plus looks better

Thanks! Well I tried both ways and it fits like crap no matter. I give up on repop anything anymore.

Yup fill tube off and wrong vent tube bending, stainless tank not crimped for straps properly and supposedly adjusted fuel gauge sender shows 1/4 tank full with 13 gallons added.
