Window mechanisms

Hello, any good threads for manual window mechanism restoration?  Much appreciated.  Didn't see anything on YouTube like I was looking for.

This was a great thread and I probably spent a few hours reading it.  So many little tidbits to absorbe and will revisit again later.   The window mechanism was around page 55 but didnt go into much detail.   What I would like to know is can these be painted?  Or would the grease and the rolling up and down sludge up the paint eventually?  or would it be better to blast off the rust patches and put a protective coating on?
