mirror differences

Hello all just wondering if the left hand and right hand mirrors are different sizes as i wanted to purchase a R/H mirror and noticed the depth being different to mine is this a year variation or just as it was ? i'll try and add some pictures later once i work it out how too

wow those photo's worked out real nice Lol  anyway you get the drift the original left hand one is about 17mm and the right hand one is about 28mm at the head is this normal for a L/H mirror

Is that r/h a factory fitted mirror ? does it have a date code on the glass

no its not, I also put a fish eye mirror on it so I can actually see cars next to me LOL, I got the mounting dimensions from this forum

Thanks CDR for the reply I'd like to hear from someone who has a factory fitted one if it's the same or if there is a size difference hence the reason i asked CDR for a date code as all the ones i'm finding are date coded later

I bought mine as a factory replacement  pair , driver side adjustable from inside. the none remote mirrors are different

You'll find that in most mopar dual mirror applications the passenger side mirror doesn't quite match the shape/profile of it's mate, reason is the passenger side mirror requires a greater degree angle of the glass mirror to be properly seen by the driver... here's some extreme cases of mopar mirrors, 1970 E racing body and 1970 B body/71 A body Racing mirrors

This is a matching E body racing set for 1970... it often confuses first time buyers/user that something is wrong, but this is how the factory did things

It would actually make more sense for cars to have the passenger side mirror larger than the driver side one.  The driver's eyes are much farther away from the pass side.
