Operation Lower Control Arm bushings;
Ok, so in the process of replacing my friend's front strut bushings in his 71 six pack Challenger R/T I discovered during my post- teardown inspection that the LC arm bushing are shot. So, with that said that needs attention. The old way of thinking for me was stay away from the poly LC arm bushing since they always squeak. Has the technology improved with a better product?
Thoughts?

if you go poly there, go poly on strut rod bushing too. Strud rod rubber bushing will be smashed using LCA poly bushing, because the bushing on control arm slides in and out easily. The poly strut rod bushing will hold better this move.

on a side note, my LCA poly bushing never squeaked. I just made the mistake of keep the rubber strut rod piece, so I could see how one of my LCAs slided out to rear and the rubber strut rod bushing got smashed

I'm not a fan of poly on a LCA bushing.  Metal fatigue, shock/vibration, etc.   It's not a very thick wad of rubber in there so firming it up will not give huge handling gains.  The rubber bushings get a bad rap because people go 20+ years between changing them.

BTW - check the K-frame for metal fatigue cracking/tearing at the LCA mounts.  Check where mounting tube attaches to the vertical walls of the K-frame.  It doesn't hurt to reinforce that spot.  Weld some heavy washers on.
