Are the small rubber bumpers that go between gas tank and trunk floor brace available new? I seem to have lost one.

Thx
Tom

I don't remember seeing anything like that when I took mine apart Tom. Where exactly were they? Which trunk floor brace?

I don't recognize it as a 70 Charger part either.  :shruggy:

Well I'll be damned. I never had one on mine. 23000 miler.

Thanks for the info Alaskan_TA

There is one on each side of the tank & they help locate its position for installation, so they can be seen with the tank installed.

Must be 70 and later, not on my 69.  Never seen them repro but was not looking either. :shruggy:

HI Guys, I'm told by a reputable source that a 1970 Charger only gets one. Thats all I had when I dropped the tank. I confirmed by looking at the passenger side and did not find a screw hole. But there is one on the drivers side. Tom

Also, I've had a bunch of cars over the years. I do remember having a B body with these blocks on both side. I just can't remember which one LOL>

Edit... I looked at some pictures of my 70 RR resto and that had blocks on both sides.

Interested to hear about the use of these bumpers on 70 B bodies. If they are used on 70 Charger...I will need the details.   Joe

i'm far from an expert ! but think its only a 70 thing as Alasken _TA  mentions above
unless it varies from assembly plant & or trunk floor brace suppliers

all the 68s & 69s I've seen!  the gas tank location tab thing is actually metal & is spot welded on &  part of the trunk floor support , see first picture !  second pictures is of a unrestored 70 charger. cant say that ive ever looked & or studied  that area on a 70 b-body enough  & this was / is  the first time ive heard about this till now . :shruggy:

3rd picture ! AMD lists the same one for all 3 years

70 Charger has a big square metal brace on the passenger side between the gas tank and the frame rail also that earlier Chargers do not have
Looks like something to help keep the tank from sliding over and pulling the filler neck out of the other side

Well the more I thought about this the more I wasn't sure. I should of just kept my mouth shut if I didn't know for sure. But I ASS u ME ed I was correct about my car not having them.
Sooooo I went back and looked at my pictures from 2003. Looky looky! From my untouched 23000 miler. Well now I have to go rummaging through my rubber boxes where I kept all the old plugs hoses and belts.

Yeah I forgot about that one too. I had that part and couldn't figure out what it was for and where it went. I did a thread about that over at the 70 Registry.

Great to be getting old! By the time the car is finished I wont remember how to get in!!!

I hope there is a source for these. Looks like I am needing a pair for my 70 Charger.

^^^^NICE! :2thumbs:

I'm thinking the same thing. Or I might make something up if I can find my old ones out of a practice puck. Maybe throw some dimensions on the one you have Finoke. I see it's attached with a hex screw.

Nice picture of a green car  :2thumbs:

Looks like the gas tank brace that goes across the middle of the tank on the bottom of trunk floor does not have a bump on either end to help keep the tank centered on a 70

I do not see these rubber pieces called out in the 70-71 parts catalog. I was hoping to find a part number. No luck yet.

Correct.....flat brace. You can also see the two holes for these rubber pieces to attach.
