I am thinking about swapping over to a 4 speed set up in my 1969 Charger that has a 383 auto in it now
I have been talking to this guy that says he has almost all the parts to do the swap
Can someone look at the pictures in this ad and tell me if anything is missing ?

We are trying to work out a deal to trade some 68 Charger stuff I have on his 4 speed stuff
I am not too happy to see his transmission all apart

Almost thinking the transmission case he is showing looks like it is aluminum and not cast like the tail stock part in his picture
So that would lead me to believe it is from a newer over drive transmission that will have a larger collar that goes into bell housing

If it is the OD trans, RUN like he was chasing you with a knife.   :eek2:

kinda hard to tell by the dark pictures, but it looks like and O.D. gear set along with the step down on the main shaft where third gear rides. Also, where's the shift cover, forks, and synchros?

I am thinking that transmission is pretty much worth nothing
How much is the rest of the pile of parts worth ?
Yes in Canadian money  ;)

Can anyone see any parts that might be missing on the other group ?

Looks like a puzzle with a couple of pieces missing.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and order a complete set up from either Brewer's or Passon's. By the time you straighten out that mess, you'd be money and time ahead. Everything is new or rebuilt already from either of these companies.

In addition to what has been said above.  Before proceeding, make sure the flywheel is correct and good.  I ran an OD aluminum transmission for about 20 years.  It was marginally better than the 3 speed it replaced, but not like a regular 4 speed.  I run a 5 speed now and think it preferable to the 4 speed.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Missing the
Frame bracket and ball stud.
Plastic bushing for ball stud.
4 speed cross member. think it depends on the year of the transmission?? 69 down, 70 up
Flywheel bolts.
Shifter boot and chrome ring.
4 speed floor tunnel.
Is that a pickup shifter handle- will it work for you?
Measure the length of the torque shaft( z bar)- the tube is suppose to be 9 inches.

Shifter rods don't look correct - check brewer's pictures
if the rods are not correct, then the levers may not work
Aluminum bellhouse requires a 130 tooth flywheel - check

Walk away from the transmission
don't see an input shaft or retainer

The 4 speed swap is  the BEST thing you could EVER do for your car, it's awesome! But don't go cheap, get a kit, also there's lots of things you DONT need like a new console. shoot me a PM if you have questions...Cheers!
