is it possible to set the bolts in the flex plate alone?  with the motor trans in car?
Recently pulled the motor and the alignment changed during that process and now it's anyone's guess which way i need to slowly turn, check, slowly turn, check, etc..

is there a trick doing this alone or just wait unit i can have some move the crank while i set the first nut?
thanks,
john

You can turn the torque converter easier.  Just a screwdriver in the starter teeth and pry.

Problem is, with the motor/trans mated, you can only see two of the bolts at one time.

If you can see the V notch on the crank flange and it's a factory converter, the crank flange notch aligns with V stamped in the converter face down by the ring gear.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

that worked to move the torque converter.
I knew they had to be close lined up since all I did was lift the motor and set back in.

I learned after tighening two bolts that you do not want to tighten anything until they are all in.

But.. all in and dust sheild in place again.  Now to get the other things back on.
thanks
