Do I need the burlap with the wires or can I use the burlap that you can buy at a hardware store.

You need the wires in the burlap to help keep the springs from destroying the foam padding.

When I redid mine I used fabric store burlap and threaded the wire in myself. Can't remember for sure but thinking I spaced it ever 1/2 inch.
