Two questions regarding my 383ci '68 Charger:

1. What is the correct spark plug gap for my stock 383 4bbl engine?

2. What should the timing be set to?

Thanks,

Chris

there really is no correct answer , with a styock coil I would set the gap to .035 , with a higher output coil you can go up to .045
the timing is a variable depending on cam & intake used , , minimum would be 10* BTDC but can go up to 20* or more  at idle & 36-38* total ,

I did my plugs at .035" and after much trial and error found 10 degrees to be best for performance, etc. Service manual said 5 (I think) but that proved to deliver subpar performance. I have a 383 4V, stock intake with MP "Magnum" cam.

Hope that helps.
