On my 68, this part that ive outlined in black has come loose and wobbles, is it a clip of some sort, perhaps gotten bent over the years, or glue?

I can wiggle mine around and with enough force, probably pull it completely off, realised today when i noticed the gap as i was going over my car, im like WTF, touched it and it wiggled and was loose.

frustrated me. lol

hopefully just a clip or a spring, i didnt have enough time before i had to go to work to further investigate.

Cheers

There are 3 studs on the back of that piece. If you go into the trunk you will see the studs coming through. The nuts holding that piece on either came loose or the studs are whittled away ( the nuts cut their own threads in the studs and sometimes after removal/ installation too many times there isn't enough material left on the stud for the nuts to hold tightly)

Thanks a lot mate
thought that may be the case.

Did NOT even realise it was a seperate piece to tell you the truth
Just thought it was part of the whole quarter.

Cheers heaps man, very much appreciated.

dual fours

Don't break the studs off. That corner piece is a cast item. The nuts can be worked to make the cutting threads a smaller opening to grip/cut into the stud to stay on tight.
edit: Ok, the corners are being made now.
