Wasn't this car for sale at Carlisle 2x yrs ago? If it was I recall it not being in the greatest shape but my memory sucks these days. The pics look like the Carlisle Corral too...

don't think this is that car , there is another almost identically optioned charger, but has V21 option  & that's in rough shape ,  although my memory is not what it was & seeing looking reading about  soo many chargers etc could easily get mixed up with something else

I await to be corrected   :popcrn:

Supposedly the number of Charger R /T SE sunroof cars was always known as 29,this states 23. I personally know of three near me,with mine being one of the three. I have been told that the 29 known to be built is based on Red Kirby doing the math by the percentage of sunroof cars produced. As far as I know there are no actual records of how many were built with the sunroof option in 1969. Judging by how many that I have seen personally, I would guess that the actual number is closer to 50 cars with the sunroof option.

Pretty darn rare Charger for sure !

Wondering about the $60K price from the pics and description though ?

What's with the pass side door panel, Galen "repop" Fender Tag, and no mentioned "numbers matching" Engine/Trans etc.

Is that WHY asking/reduced to only $60K ?   I would have thought "one" of 29 sunroof rarity would offset.

Hey guys,
The Red R/T SE car advertised on Cars-on-line is the one that was at the Carlisle car corral a few years back. It is the one that was in the Sept 2000 issue of MCG and there is history on it back to the mid 80's. The original 440 in the mid 80s was too far gone so it got a replacement block. It was also repainted in the late 80s or early 90s and the original fender tag was lost. It does retain its broadcast sheet tho - so a reproduction tag was made for the car. It just sold recently and the new owner in SoCal is replacing the vinyl top, recovering the seats, and touching up other needed things to make it look a little better. Another note - this is the only Canadian shipped 69 sunroof Charger so far in the Sunroof Registry.

The ad does say "NOM" which is Non Original Motor. I assume the transmission is original.

I agree about the door panel. They should/could have taken time to replace it. It does stand out on a nice car like that.

I believe you are correct in all of this.  As stated, 23, 29 or 50 they are extremely rare and with the natural number of cars lost plus the additional rust issues with a sunroof increasing that number for these cars, they begin to make Hemi cars look commonplace.
Verry cool cars.

chargervert

Mine has the additional rust issue option.

Given the rarity, I just thought $60K was low/well priced.  :shruggy:

I would not have thought the None Original Motor, nor the repop Fender Tag in the presence of the B-Sheet should detract that much from the rarity value-wise ?

In the late 90s, I could have bought this  car for $18k. I passed, due to the replacement engine.

So cool, I went to the world of wheels in chattanooga last weekend and there was a 69 charger there with the SE package that had cruise control, A/C and power windows. I didn't notice if it had a sun roof since you couldn't get very close to it. I'm thinking if it would have had the sun roof that it would have been noted with all the other options listed. It was orange with a black vinyl top and had 17 inch magnum 500's. It was sharp for sure, it had been built from barely a hull and somebody did a great job fixing it back.

:popcrn:  :popcrn: Funny.....I looked at it also .... but passed because it was red (one of the 3-5 colors I did not care for at the time  :slap:).
