.....There is no choice for black in this poll

There was a choice for the color black when this thread first came out then it got removed. :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

The best color for 2nd gen Chargers is black.

TruckDriver

Normally I would say black, but I love Dark Bronze on second gen Charger's. Google photo.

T5 Copper with white R/T stripe and white top like the late Red Kilbys car.

69 OUR/TEA

Would have thought B5 blue would be way out in front on the poll !!!!

G-man

White and black are not colours.

Other - Never heard of that colour before.

70 sublime

Really all factory colours look good on Chargers other than white and guess what no one has chosen white in the poll  :2thumbs:

I had bought a white 68 Charger as the second Charger I ever had ( first Charger also a 68 was such a rot box was not worth fixing way back when)
And it was the first Charger I ever painted F6 green  :icon_smile_big:
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

I'm always curious when I hear someone make that statement?, I wonder if they got a black eye how would they know? or do they prefer their credit/accounts in the "red" because it's a "colour" rather than the "black"? what "colour" do they use instead of "whiteout" to erase an error? what's their response when asked what colour their auto's interior is when it's "black" or "white"?...

I'm not a fan of white either, and I agree "most" colours look good on 2nd gen Chargers (except a triple dose of F8  :eek2: ) I wouldn't kick this out of my driveway for being white...

Interior is a shade of black, white, grey - separate to colours.

I know what you mean though, I was just being technically correct.  ;)

I'm with you on that one... that is one nice charger :)

Think a member here has a white one with a red rear stripe pro-touring style, that one is very nice too.

If it was a white roof, no stripe, it would look weird. White always needs something to set it off/break it up.

alfaitalia

I like blue....most of the factory Gen 2 blues are OK....but mine is being painted a Ford Blue (Deep Impact Blue!)....so sorry about that. :smilielol:

I don't have a problem with black and did consider it. But I plan to drive it as much as I can.....and black is near impossible to keep clean .....even a few specs of dust stand out and ruin the effect......and even the tiniest car park door ding stands out like a sore thumb (or red bulldogs bollocks....as we say around these parts!!!) and the dents look way bigger than they are on a black car.
I also like white....almost bought a white ALFA 159 recently.....but then realised that any proper Italian car should be red!! White is the opposite of black as far as dents are concerned with tiny pings being next to invisible.....the problem with white is that it seems to hide all the body lines (due to reflecting most of the light im guessing) and makes a car look a very different shape compared to a dark or middle colour.

The ONLY colour I don't like on Chargers is Green....any green but F8 is really distasteful to my eye....but each to his own and as long as its a Charger who really cares what colour it is!! To be honest I would not have green on any car either....and my wife (and her mother) have a real problem with green....believing it is unlucky for some obscure reason going back years....so I would not be "allowed" a green car anyway!!! LOL.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you !!

69 OUR/TEA

That's what makes the world go round !!! It's funny how many people do not like green . We all have different tastes , although my Charger is not green , the first Charger I almost bought was a triple green with white stripe R/T SE . To me , as someone would consider blue or red , I love green !!!! But , my ultimate fav color Charger was to be a factory 3x9 (V88 , no stripe ) because if it were to be black , I want it to be all black .  2nd choice is T5 , white top , white stripe , saddle or white interior !!!!

ACUDANUT

Day Clona, I have seen that Charger before. Does he belong to HPAC of KC ?

And also on 3rd gen

( soon here will insert the former PaulG's 73 Rallye 440, when I find it )

EDITING... no way I could find the pic of this car on the web, but found the pic on my PC. Bronze looks GREAT on 3rd gens too with the propper stance and setup! ( and gold interior, even better )

This thread went from whats your favorite color to f8 green is distasteful. Lets see your car. For all we know you are a 12 year old on the internet. That would help us decide your qualifications on charger tastfulness.

Who sets the qualifications to determine taste? you need to own a Charger to have an opinion? a 12 year old is not cognitive enough to form his/her own colour preference on an automobile?... get over it dude, go start your own post/poll to see who loves F8 then you F8 guys can frolic with glee...

Dayclona, with all due respect, since I've read some of your posts on this and other forums and know you to be knlowlegable, but exactly, who does set the standards for taste? You? Alfaitalia? Saying I don't like green, or tapioca pudding, is one thing. Saying ef8 green is distasteful is something else. I think painted bumpers and scratched up glass is cheesy, especially when you say you are can afford a 1500 or whatever horsepower engine. Thusly the challenge to post your cars. Double dare ya.

I suppose you should, my green car also.

Granted I am biased, but as long as the body is laser straight, and clean(a passtime all by itself), IMO, 2nd Gens can present really well in Black.
