Anyone know where to get these clips

I've searched around a lot and can't find them.  They are the clips that hold the quarter window outside bottom molding on.  They also have tiny little screws.

it takes 3 per side

OK, I'll have to look.  I think there are 4 holes per side but maybe only three are used.

Looking thru my old pictures, I had three per side but there are slots or places for a fourth.  The set I bought has 8 total so I guess I'll be using them all.

Mine only has 3, as mentioned by cdr. Even though it appears 4 will be needed.

remove the upper pad & large bracket & remove the screws that hold the chrome on.

Thanks for the info.  However, I'm not seeing those screws.  Upper pad and it's galvanized mounting plate are off.  I can see the 3 clips that " seem " to be holding the chrome trim on the car.  My intuition tells me to pull straight up on the chrome strip....But it ain't moving.  Of course it's been there for 50 years.  Am I missing something??

Do you have the outer window sweep removed?

Which "sweeps"?  I assume you mean the felt things that sit down in the window slot.  Outside ones are hooked on with clips very similar to the ones on the front windows.  Just push down to engage.  The ones on the inside are a different animal.  Just started on mine.  Evidently, they attach to the upper pad.  I suspect they are glued and stapled but details are a mystery.  Just by luck I took a couple of pictures that might help.

The first pic is a pic of a new felt and the back side of a felt that I removed from a pad.  It looks like the felt is attached to the pad with a combination of adhesive and staples.  But the staples go thru the metal of the pad backing.   :shruggy:  I don't know how I'm going to handle this.

The second pic shows a felt attached to a pad and the polished metal is part of the felt, not the pad.

This what you're talking about?

Oops, sorry, got to this conversation a little late.  The outer felt just pulls straight up, but...what will probably happen is that the clips are pretty rusted up and you'll have to find some way to pry or pull them free.  No screws etc.  The chrome trim on the outside of the window is held down by screws.  The clips I talked about at the start of this thread are what you need to take off to get the chrome off.  And just to clear things up, it's not chrome, just polished stainless.

I'll try to get some pic tomorrow.

Slipped my mind but these might help.

Pic #1 - First I had to take the down stop off the window to get it t roll down far enough to get to the screws.

Pic #2 - The window felt is just attached by clips mounted to the back of the felt.  You just have to pull up to get the felt off.  Sometimes it takes a lot of strength.
Edit: I was just putting the first of mine back on and noticed that the clips have little barbs on the inside (look closely at the picture).   I would think that you will have to bend those little black clips a lot to get the felt off.

Pic #3 - The felt clips go in these slots in the window opening.

Pic #4 -  One the felt is off you can see the screw heads that hold the trim on.

Pic #5 - The screw go thru holes in the sheet metal and into the J clips.

Just a thought,  you need to pry the felt away from the sheet metal a little bit to make it easier to get that clip to slip out of the hole.

A big THANK YOU!!  for posting the above pictures.  Ten minutes after looking at them my SS trim is off the car.  Things are so easy when you know how.
