Hello there,

What kinda light bulbs are in the instrument panel?

How many volts? i guess normal 12 volt
How much watt? 5??

Chris.

Plumcrazy

Depending on the location they would be #194 or #57's

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

The ones in my 73 rallye cluster are #57's. Not sure on volts or watts...

Are you sure Nacho? Since a car is 12 volt..?? And 2 watts is so little...

Chris.

Have you seen them, they are very tiny. Go to the auto store and get a pair of 194 . That are also sometimes used on the side markers. If it has lights by the floor  those are it too. You can also get them in red and blue tint . They look really nice inside by the floor. You can get the dome light red or blue also.

Chargerfreak

Thanks,  but i need to know the volts and watts. We don't know those nuimbers you give over here. I'm in the Netherlands.

Chris.

Nacho-RT74

I'm MORE than sure... that's what Mopar parts dealer catalog says on to the bulbs chart.

Car is 12 volts ON BATT but max 14.5 ON ALT, to get better charging performance.

2 wats is a lot for that kind fo tiny bulb and even enough to melt the plastic blue lense when is close... tail lights and parking bulbs are around 20-30 watts
domelight is 15 watts.

Can you maybe tell that in another way?? (i'm dutch and don't understand a  :icon_smile_evil: of that sentence)

We absolutely don't work with those numbers over here 57, 194. Only Watts and Volts here :-\

Greets,
chris

dodge freak

Why don't you just take one in to the store and match it up? It is a 12 volt bulb, yes the volts go up to 14 when the car is ruining but 12 is want you want. As for wattage get what you can get. If you have a few to pick from get the lowest one. If it is not brite enough for you keep going up till it is. The fuse will blow if you go too high, or feel the wire after a while to make sure its not getting hot.

mikepmcs

if that don't work and you are at your wits end.(can't find any), gimme your address and i'll send you some of both. :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:
but you gotta post pictures of your car and send over some dutch women or hook me up with one. pics of them too. :icon_smile_big:
wait my ex fiance married a dutch guiy, forget what i said :icon_smile_evil:

just kiddin with ya, offer still stands.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Nacho-RT74

OK 57 is bayonet kind metallic plug ( twist and lock ) and 194 is wedge king, all glass.

There is around 12 filaments kinds and shape... lenght and wide for different purpouses and heat and light radiation, but is true oftenly is almost unapreciable hehehe.

Bot are completely different filament and plug kind but share same watts and volts.

Did you get it now ? LOL

weird they aren't available upt there by number... mostly of them were GE made ( General Electric ) and they are available EVEN HERE IN VENEZUELA LOL...

But is true that everyday they are becoming harder to find by numbers and harder to find the EXACT bulb matching ALL specs, including filament kind, glass globe shape and size etc...

Right now i have JUTS ONE BULB that had to install becsue is just similar... the A/C lettering bulb.

as stated by dodge freak, if you are not on purist stock parts and have simply to match the ones you find on your car, you can play then with volts and watts and even get better ilumination on cluster.

If you find 12-13 volts and 2.5 watts or even 3 watts you will get brigther cluster, but becarefull because you can overload the cluster ilumination wiring, dimmer or fuse box, blow fuse etc... also melt with time the blue lenses on cluster.

anyway you have something to start... 14 volts/2 watts. That's the stock specs.
