Correct fuel tank vent hose and filler cap ?

Working away and again came to a halt today. Either the vendor sold me too small of clamps... or Chrysler used a thin walled 1/4" hose on the tank vent lines.

Picture is todays regular 1/4" fuel hose and the keystone clamp I was sold. Should I be looking for a lighter hose, or bigger keystone clamp?

Question 2

Which style fuel cap is correct for a Feb built '69 Dodge. I know the new one I was sold as "OEM correct" is a joke with "assembled in Mexico" on it,  but is it correct, or the smooth faced cap I had on the car?

THANKS, Wayne

Nobody??

I have some new "1/4" clamps coming from Jamie at Megaparts so we'll see how they fit, added them to my leaf spring rebuild kit I decided I needed!

My '70 superbee that I had, had the smooth style gas cap you have pictured on the right.

Wayne, I can check my 69 bee but it might be a day Or two. If I remember, it had the cap on the left. But let me see if I can go by and check.

Okay thanks Luke!

Still curious about whether Chrysler used a lighter hose on the 1/4" vent tubes??

Thanks Luke.. who knows if either of ours are original.. and I know the "CORRECT OEM" reproduction doesn't stand a hope in hell of being correct other than "keyed" vs smooth.

Guess I need to browse Mopar John's restorations for clues maybe. Thought someone here would have a definitive answer to both questions, but I realize some don't want to let their concurs knowledge out and I'm fine with that.  :2thumbs:

I have since learned that Ma Chrysler indeed used a light hose on the vents and I could have gone with the correct smaller Keystones I had by sourcing some lighter hose.  :brickwall:
