Any ideas on how to restore the "white" font on the AC controls on a 69 AC car

I have been trying to figure out how to reapply the white font on the controls for my ac/heat controller buttons. Seems like the letter are raised off the button instead of inset. If inset I was going to put white paint on the button and then wipe off with lacquer thinner. But like I said seem as if they are raised? Any ideas?

Someone sold a sticker set in the past that covered the front of the "button" and had the white writing on it already.  I have not used them, but it is an option.

PCG also restores them completely....
