finally got to make a 1/4 mile pass with my pig sunday,     traction wasnt the greatest and i had a pretty fair headwind but the pig went 11.35 @ 118.49 mph.   i was pretty happy, i had set a long shot goal to go 11.46 or faster and it did that every pass except the first ones,   even the passes i was bagging et ( all the way down to 111 mph)

i know there is at least 1 other person here using the same cam as me (comp xe282s) with a simular engine so i thought id post my results

Thats great, I would be happy in fact very happy cause you said traction wasn't the greatest. You lose a few tenths very easily at the start , unless you are going to drag race it at the track I would not worry about it. If you get it to hook up perfect you might start breaking stuff, rear end, u joints , engine mounts, etc.

runner, congratulations.  have you posted your combo in the performance section?

i acually ran 11.80 with the car last spring but i upgraded to e heads, a holley hp main body, hooker headers over headmans, and a wilson manifold tapered spacer,   the engine is a 452 low deck with 10.4-1 compresion comp xe282s solid lifter cam,  crane iron rockers, tm-6 inkate and a 10 t/a converter,

the traction issues and head wind cost me a little et but id guess it was less that a tenth.   sense this is a street car, im done traying to make it go faster....  i think  lol    might try some caltracs and im going to definalty pull the 4.57s out of it and drop in some 4.30s or 1.10s.  i havent decided yet,   but it was going through the lights at about 6500 ish and id like to get that down to around 6200 ish

Congrats Mike....that is excellent !  ;D Vegas Mike is the other member who's running the xs282s in his 68 Charger. Hopefully he'll have some ET's for us soon.  ;)

So basicly, the stock e-head has trimmed 1/2 a second off your ET....not too shabby for a stock replacement head huh ?  :icon_smile_cool:

hey ron,  i remebered that the guys name was mike ( not hard to remember) and that he lived in vegas and his brother in florida is biulding a stroker motor as well.   however i dont remember what cam he is running.    i cant wait to hear what vegas mike runs in his car.      i think i got a solid 3.5-4 tenths out of the heads.  and 1- 1.5 tenthes out of the spacer headers and main body, however i also wonder what it will run with out a big headwind.   everyone at the track was off a bit.     i do think that if i can get some good weather and the car hooks good without the headwind it is very possible this pig will go in the 11.20s

hey bob,   you should hav e came out,   dont know much longer the track will be open.  as you know ive been doing more racing in walla walla but i plan to race in spokane more this year.  i lost my best friend last summer and srp just really reminds me of him. it gives me a good feeling kind of like we are closer and i want to take advatage of that as much as i can incase the track becomes a golf corse.

Hey Runner, I have to agree with these guys. It's NOT A PIG.. I would say very respectable for a fairly heavy street car.

VegasMike has been very busy with work and has not made it to the track with the car yet. Hell, the way it looks right now he may not make it this year!! I can tell you it runs like a raped ape and he's very happy with it. He just put a forward manual valve body in it and is getting use to holding his tongue between his teeth when he shifts to keep from swallowing it.

Runner

thanks guys,   mike the car is all steel,  ive relocated the battery to the trunk, and i have an aluminum radiator, its full interior, nothing light weight (except heads, intake and radialtor)    i was really hoping to see some numbers from your car.

Sweet.. I expect my Charger to run about the same times when I get it ready for some serious abuse at the track.

My combo is a 440 with 10.7:1 in comp, bolt on Eddys (no port work), mek. cam, Team G intake topped off with a 1050cmf Dominator. Dynoed at 542hp @ 5900rpm

Dynamic 9.5" converter, stall is 3500rpm. 8 3/4" rear axel, 3.91 gears

The ride is more or less stock weight, I will probably need to add a rollbar at some point. Ive also thought about having a shop make me fiberglass front fenders and bumpper. A 2 stage Nitrous system is also something I will add later..

/Tom

Runner

Good numbers Runner.  I like how you say you are done trying to make it go faster and then in the same breath, mention Cal-Tracs.  ;)
