Did all vin tags on the dash of a 68 Charger have the "Chrysler Corporation" on them ? I've seen a couple without where it's just the vin on there, is this a car to be avoided do you think ? Also do all Challengers have the "Chrysler Corporation" on the dash vin ? Thanks

Please see pic below, was the "Chrysler Corporation" just printed on there originally in ink or something ? Or stamped ?

The vin tags lacking the chryco stamp have just had there dashboards and or vin tags painted over.
Nothing to be concerned about really, although it is just one less aspect of originality lost.

What the hay did they spray on the dash?
You can see where the spray is missing on the forward side of the lettering and the rivets.
If this is your car, as in the owner, take very little Acetone on a rag and see if the orange peel paint will come off on a corner of the VIN tag, if it does, work your way over the tag and hope the original black base coat and the white printing stays on. If the white printing goes away also, someone (ECS) makes the decal to replace the white printing.

You would want to have someone looking though the windshield as you remove the crap, so they can tell you what is happening.
It looks to be applied from the inside forward, so it would be a side ways paint job over the tag as apposed to a straight down though the window opening paint job, sideways being maybe easier to remove, the paint may not be applied as heavy.

I wonder if it is this paint? https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/dupli-color-3391/chemicals---fluids-16461/paint---body-repair-16614/paint---wrinkle---textured-18075/spray-paint/mx100/4268153/1969/plymouth/gtx

If this was done to the dash, I wonder what else was covered up? :scratchchin:

It looks like bed liner or something.  ECS sells the correct Chrysler corporation decal.
