Does anyone have a perfect black 71-74 dash pad they'd sell or know where to get one? I've been trying to get one since January. Got one from dash pad pros and it was total junk, so it got sent back. Called classic industries and found out they get their pads from dash pad pros as well. Dash pad pros has a tooling problem and didn't realize it till I called their attention to it. They call themselves ultimate rides when they supply classic industries. .sounds sneaky to me. Anyways just dashes is very expensive and has a 3 month wait. I don't have that kind of time anymore. I was desperate enough to try an abs core, but classic industries says they are backordered too. What the heck is going on?

Did you try Carolina Super Dash?  Mine is from there and it was perfect. They re-pad existing frames.

I dealt with Carol 419-263-2376. Mine 5 years ago was 475 to my door. But again, it was perfect.

Thanks, I'm going to call them immediately

Check ebay... they are available there. They are requesting cores to keep working on them though

$165.00 for a dash pad core?? WTF!!

Does that mean they will buy my core (I don't need a replacement) just sell them a core and they'll give me $165.00 lol.

Nacho-RT74

Some years ago, the core charge was around $60 or so

I guess is because the lack of cores they are having now because lot off ppl preffered to loose $60 and just pay one shipping aside forget the packaging cost and labor to send their core years back. Now the buyer will have to do it to save that big money and they won't have to get in troubles to restock cores.

I think they can buy cores, but I don't think will close a deal at that price ratio! If you have some, is better sell to them any price than just trash it I guess.

This ebay seller is the same that has being changing their ebay name... carolina dashes was one of their screen names I think... I have seen around 3 or 4 screen names from them. And I THINK is t same AZ-Nick which made a group buy around here loooong time ago.

There is a thread on 3rd gen board of one of their pieces what Brock bought and it looked pretty much nice, to not say perfect!

The only detail ( for me at least ) the grain pattern available is 71/73, not 74. So when times comes, I'll have to live with that on my 74. Not a big deal though... you'll have to live with that too 400sforever

And of course I will not be able to send a core from whatever location I could be, so for me maybe will be better just pay the core charge OR buy a core in USA and send straight to them.

So VegasCharger... maybe I can buy your core in couple of years LOL

( I'm recalling I paid US$250 for the NICE dash pad I bought used maybe 10 years ago, a bit dryed but still perfect, and correct 74 grain pattern )

Those pads on eBay come from dash pad pros is the problem. I already had to return one to them because it was crap. They finally admitted their stamping tool was bad

Really?  Hmm, that is interesting.
Well, from doing some investigation, seems they became Superior Dash Pads according to the folks at CudaChallenger.
I just googled that and they look like new car pads but I guess it is worth a call and inquiry.
Sorry about that. Carlisle coming up, may be worth a trip.

Nacho-RT74

where was exactly the blemish on the Dash Pad Pros piece ?

I ask because I got a repro tuff wheel from dalescudashop ( but from they ebay store ) claimed to be BLEMISHED PIECES. Their price use to be on $200-250 rate but got this one in $80 or $85, can't recall. I'm still searching for the claimed blemish on the wheel LOL. Maybe if I put side by side against an "unblemished" one, will find the detail, but so far so good I have not find any... of course I'm set on is a repro piece and will never be perfect like an original.

The dash pad pros pad I bought was not stamped for the map light insert and the pad was not straight nor had crisp lines where the passenger a/c vent woodgrain insert goes

You can have it. You have helped me out with some questions in the past.

I'd rather you have it than the stuck A-Holes who go around and buy them at the swap meets that I go to. They pay $15 for 71-74 B and $10 for 68-70 B dash pad cores. When they approach you they tell you a story like they're the only ones who will buy them because no one is willing to buy a ripped up pad. They won't budge on their offers. So usually I sell the pads to them. Not anymore since the last incident. He was stuck up and I felt like a raped ape after he walked away. For $15.00 I would have rather taken the pad and bend it in half right in front of him after his snide remarks. And not giving him the satisfaction of throwing it away so he could later fetch up the defected dash pad for free.

Anyway sorry for my rant. It's yours Nacho if you want it, just pay shipping. It's pretty thrashed (see pic). I will set it aside if you want it.

Oh! That's a really important deal!

Some earliers 71 didn't get stamped for the map light thought ( a friend of mine had one on its 71 bought on the 70s ), so maybe they based on those because was the first one they had to get the sample
