Hello guys quick question.

I have a 70 440 with an edelbrock dual plane intake on it. Cant recall which one. I want to run a holley/pro form 750 mechanical carb just for tuning and ease of mind as i have ran one on another car for years. The holleys are just so reliable and easy to tune.

I also want to run the stock 70 dual snorkel air cleaner. My question is will the stock air cleaner/750 carb/aluminum intake fit under a stock 70 hood ?

I picked up a 70 intake just in case.

It really depends what type of aluminum intake you have.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

i have a 69 and the dipple in my hood says no,

I used the bottom of a lowering air cleaner, on top of a 1/2 adapter to finally get clearance for hood and carb

just be careful,  I later used double sided tape on high point to see if I got clearance,  start slow.
