Here is another product I use from PPG,it is called HSP-2128BK ,it is from their light industrial coatings. It is a polyurethane epoxy primer, that has great filling capabilities. It is a direct to metal product.Great for filling in rust pitts, sand and recoat.I love the way this product looks after it dries,it looks like whatever you paint with it was dipped, and the color looks like a satin black. So far I have used it on my K-frame,upper control arms, grill frame, pulleys, master cylinder, and brake booster.I will be using on the rear axle as well.

That is nice!
Me with little access to spray guns, and the fact that I didnt take my k-frame out, I used Rust oleum oil based satin black brush on paint as mine.
Self leveling & tough so no brush marks

69,
Is that similar to PPG's DP epoxy primers? Their black DP primer has a similar finish. I used it to replicate the "velvet" finish on the dash frame. I let it flash, then dusted it on with some dryspray, very even coat. Looked like the factory "velvet" finish, that others are charging big bucks for a "special" can of paint.

For those that prefer to use paint on suspension parts, Eastwood's Chassis Black is very durable & covers great, too.

Hey bill,no,DP is alot thinner does not fill like HSP will. This has a satin, almost semi gloss to it,where DP dries and looks flat.Even though I use all PPG,I liked the old DP,now as you know it is DPLF.They took the lead out.I use PPG's omni epoxy primer,it sprays alot better and even costs less. They used to just have it in grey, but now have it in a couple of colors, including black. The nice part about this HSP,it sands awesome!,especially when flling in small pitts.

The last K-frame I did I used the DP epoxy primer, followed by Deltron single stage black with a flattening agent. Looks just like yours, only your method is easier!  ;D

Perect, you're talikng about DX685,that works great for that type of application. On a duster I just did,the owner wanted a satin black finish on the hood, for this type of application(also the tail panel on the charger),use 2060 FLEX-N-FLAT clear, mix ratio for desired gloss level. If you use 685,like to get a satin ,when you rub it ,it does start to get glossier, where the 2060 won't.
