I've seen them both ways and when done with the hoses running parallel to each other it looks cleaner, but with some I've seen that I know are being concurs judged I suspect the hoses crossed above the alternator are actually correct??

I have the alternator bracket and fender bracket, just interested to learn which is the correct hose set up per original factory install?  :shruggy:

The service manual will show a diagram of which hose connects to which engine & heater core nipple...I believe that the hoses are crossed if they are connected correctly

I can get the picture if needed..let me go look in my other hard drive

Here is the 66 version of big block heater hose connections....it's probably the same as later years with the exception of the fender bracket

Okay THANKS!

Guess I could have flipped through the pages of my '69 Coronet Service Manual !!

Not sure why it matters which is in and which is out on the heater core, since there's no control valve in it.

Next stupid question... with Chrysler using two different part numbers for the inlet and outlet hoses, when both are 5/8".. WTH !  :brickwall:

Did I guess correctly???

Also suspect I got the bracket correct on the outside of the alternator mount bracket. Figure that's what the punched detent is for.. to keep the hose bracket from turning.

Thanks!

yes, the bracket is on correctly...I don't have an answer for the different part numbers....unless it had to do with "length" of each hose at the factory assembly line

and to answer yer question about why it would make a difference as to which heater core nipple each hose would connect to, I heard a while back that it had something to do with going in the bottom or the top of the heater core to have something to do with heat transfer and better heat output to the cabin.....I'm not sure how much truth I would put to that, and I agree with you, it's just a heater core and the water going through it should not matter...but what do I know
