How come not one of the people on "the list" have Mopars? Is it just that much cheaper to run GM engines?
I would think that at least one of them would be running a blown Hemi, and kicking ass doing it. Isnt every top fuel dragster running blocks based on the 426 Hemi?
From what I have watched some of those rides although FAST AS HELL. They are not street cars. Most of them could not be driven in real life driving situations. But my main issue is  why no MOPARS?

Dominator - 1967 Dodge Dart Twin Turbo....  Has a Cheby big block in it though. :brickwall:

It must be cost, but the guy big chief I think he runs a rare Pontiac block for the base of his build that can't be to cheap to run that.
I would still think a blown or twin turbo'd Hemi  would be very competitive? If I was on that list I'd be running a (first gen!)Charger or maybe a Roadrunner.

Lennard

They had this Charger in one episode.

Kern Dog

That Charger looks distorted, as if it were shorter than stock.

cdr

the last show had 2 Hemi cars, they were not in mopar cars though.

What were the Hemi engines in?
I haven't watched that Show in a bit.
I  loved when the guy "Farm Truck" and his buddy drove that old hearse around with suits made out of seat covers and  head rest helmets, so it looked like no one was driving!" That was funny.

68pplcharger

They have had a few Pro Mods with alcohol blown hemi's. The last episode had a couple chevy's with Pro mod hemi's. I think one of them was a 55 nomad and the other was a 57 chevy. not sure it's been a few weeks...

I maybe should have phrased my question differently, I just can't believe that out of all the "main" guys on that show, none run Mopar cars.
And if you are a Mopar guy and want to go to number #1 on the list your choice of engine would probably be a Hemi.
I think 2 of the regular guys run Fords and the rest are GM products,or GM based products.
Maybe everybody here should each donate one part and we can build a Mopar to blow them guys out of the water,LOL.
I would probably still watch the show a little more regularly if instead of Monza, they had a Mopar Mike, or Bradley Barracuda.(hey that would be me if Chargers were not my favorite)No disrespect  to Monza, he seams like a cool guy, reminds me of my old man a lot.

I think they are just all GM guys.

Dominator is really frustrating to watch.  I like him but he's always defending his spot against slower guys punching above their weight, like Boosted GT, instead of aggressively moving up the list.  It would be great to see him advance because I think he should be faster than he is.  Unfortunately, he just doesn't seem very sorted, consistent or competitive.  To be fair, he did try to improve by switching to turbos last season.  He should also switch to a hemi.

As Dominator has said, he cant afford to build & maintain a mopar engine that is competitive. the GM type engines these guys run, start at 50k & then ad ALL the other stuff, NOS, or Turbos ECT, them maintain it, no way with a mopar

You could build it, sure, but blow it up and start all over again and again?

Boring and "run of the mill" as it may be there's just no cheaper HP than going GM.

I wouldn't even know how to get 3,000 hp to the ground correctly.

Calculate HP From Weight and MPH
MPH 200    Weight 2400

Your HP is 2,984
computed from your vehicle weight of 2400 pounds and 200 MPH
