I just dont understand it!

Could it be your head is just getting bigger? The spot may have not changed in size.

Shortly after getting married, my father in law said " you better just shave your head (close cut - not necessarily shiny).  You'll need a hat to stay warm, and you'll cut your head when you get to close to stuff."  He had a the same haircut and it made sense, so I did, and haven't looked back.  My kids laugh when they see old pictures of me with hair.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
