does anybody run this cam in a hp 1969 440 engine with the stock 906 heads?

PRH

I've run that cam in 340's, 360's, and 383's.
I think the short seat timing might result in some detonation issues if it's a "correct" 69 hp440.
It would run fine though, should have real good low end TQ.

What did you mean with detonation issues?

BSB67

The short cam timing will increase cylinder pressure causing detonation.  Some call it "ping", some call it " spark knock", some call it "rattle".  It's a distinctive knocking sound that comes from the engine during acceleration or under heavy load like going up a hill or pulling a trailer.

The reality is that there are almost no original 440s around, and almost anything rebuilt has low compression pistons in it.  If you don't have a detonation problem now, you'd probably be okay.

A simple cylinder pressure test would answer the question.
