Cool!! Thanks for posting. When I was about 13 I lived in Austin and they had a large street racing seen. I always remember a cool Super bee that was real loud. That may have been part of what started it for me. We lived next to a Air Force base the Gi's had nice cars too.

Before he's in the ditch you can see when he drives by that he has a very loose front suspension. That works great for drag racing. (weight transfer) It doesn't really work well when doing donuts and taking wild turns.

Everyone was thin. GREAT point! What the hell happened to all of us? When did McDonalds start SUPER sizing stuff???

Scientists say pretty much everything they study is getting fatter these days.  People, wild animals, animals in controlled captivity (research labs), etc.

Bad eating & exercise habits play a role for humans.  We are fattening up the worst on average.  But there has to be something else going on too.  They don't know why.

The 2nd worst increase among animals is chimpanzees.  Chimps are not the animal with the most access to humans' bad food & habits, but they share more DNA with us than anything else.

I bet that was fat scientists who said that !! And its funny how it only seems to affect the developed nations.....the ones with an excess of cheap , fast , high fat foods easily available! Only one way to get fat.....eat lots more calories than you burn. Eat less' exercise more and you WILL loose weight. Anyone who says they are not eating much and still putting on weight is swimming in Africa.....in denial!! The UK has the dubious honour of being the fastest nation in Europe. I'm 50 and started to put on weight.....bit of a chocolate and burger addiction. I cut out (most of ) the crap and run either 7 or 10 miles once or twice a week and guess what.......180lbs again and going down. Must be some kind of witchcraft!!! LOL!

Boy that brings back some fond memories. Well, all except when one of our guys got squirrely in his 'cuda and his cousin bumped him off the strip. He then went through a fence, hit a cow and has been a quad since 1977.  :-\  It never got him down, he bought a van.. had it hand equipped and continued to tour with us on Friday nights. We however all started travelling 2 hours to a drag strip in Luskville Quebec for our "grudge matches".

Hey, I never claimed that diet & exercise were not factors.  I just said they aren't the only ones.  A bunch of things are probably adding up to the problem both in and out of our individual control.

The fact is that dozens of different animal species are all gaining weight.  Research lab mice and chimps didn't all get more lazy or eat more junkfood than they used to.  We're talking about animals in controlled conditions their whole lifespan.  We feed them exactly the same diet & exercise routines as in the past but they gain noticeably more weight today.  Something is happening.

People stayed skinny because this was before there were hundreds of television channels, all absorbing video games, and limitless internet content.
You had to go outside every now and then. ::)
