New quarters and filler panel info

My full quarters have arrived at my suppliers shop, but the sail/filler panel won't arrive for a few weeks.

Is it possible to test fit the quarters without the filler panel? All the panels are AMD.

What order to they go on:  Filler panel then quarters? Quarters then filler panel? Quarter, filler panel, quarter?

Thanks

When you say "filler panel" are you referring to the panel below the rear window? AMD calls it a filler but most on here call it a "dutchman" (I don't know why  :shruggy: ) and it probably goes in first, but it would might work in any order.  You can probably start the quarters without the dutchman but final fit will require it because the truck gutters need to line up.

Yes, the Dutchman panel is what I mean. I thought that when I took mine apart, one goes on top of the other in the rear window channel, but I can't remember which one.

I don't know about around the window but the filler panel gutter sits on top of the quarter gutter on my car (just looked.)

You mean the edge of the trunk opening, right? If yes, then it would make sense for the quarters to go first with the Dutchman going on next.

Makes sense to me.

The amd filler/dutchman will need to be spliced to fit the amd quarters and the bottom window corners need to be redone as they dont fit the window chrome.

Id wait till you had all the panels and window trim in hand before any welding. Fit all the panels with vise grips to get the best overall fit.

Absolutely. I'm just going to be test fitting for now.

Do you have the valence end caps in hand aswell ? as they need to be thrown into the mix of fittment too, but they will need major work.

Just to throw a little hint your way.  Those rear valance end caps seem to give many people problems.   One of the members here  (CDR, Charlie, if you see this can you point to your description?) had a pretty neat way of making the aftermarket ones work.

Also, when hanging the quarters, make sure you fit those quarter eyebrows to the ends of the quarter. You might think they'ed fit automatically but maybe not!

Quarter eyebrows? Do you mean the end pieces that stick as far as the trunk lid?

Yeah, when you hang the quarters put the eyebrows on because if the profile doesn't match then later it's really hard to correct.  It may not be much but I think one of the defining things of the Charger body is that long quarter.
