In the proven engine combos section, Windsor posted his awesome 383>>438 build. I'm wondering what those HP/tq numbers would look like if this engine still had stock 906 heads. I'll likely have mine built in a year or so and that's looking like a great engine for my needs.

Very mild cam. 438hp, 440 ft lbs on stockers.

That wouldn't be bad for a basic cruiser, but I like the numbers with the aluminum heads better.

Can't say without knowing what is/will be done to the 906's

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter
11.68 @ 120.2 mph

Here is the problem, a quality rebuild will cost money.  Most people on a budget will not spend the $ necessary to get a good rebuild.  In turn the cheap rebuilds are junk, and cost a bunch of power.  

Plan on $1000+ for your 906s to make them good, or spend a little more and get some Sidewinders or Stealths or something.  If neither of those are in you budget, save your money until they are.
