Power steering pump is puking

I have a 68 Charger with the trw pump. It's puking fluid out of the pump. I've rebuilt this pump, swapped in a junkyard pump, same thing. The gearbox is fairly recent from steer and gear, within the last two years. I have the car in the air, engine running. When I turn the wheel to the right it's fine, when I turn it to the left, it comes up to the top of the housing. If I turn it slowly, no overflow. I'm about at my witts end, anyone have any pointers? I have tightened the belt, I thought that was it, nope. I'm getting tired of oil everywhere. I just wiped it down again.

You haven't mentioned if you have done anything with the high pressure hose?

I haven't replaced that yet, I didn't question it because the pump worked before. I guess I'll get one and see what happens. It appeared to be ok when I had it apart.

Is the car being driven or are you rebuilding it ? Did you get all the air out of the box ?  When you turn the wheel to the left  like driving does it turn smoothly or does it shudder ?  If the pressure hose is old I would change it anyway ..

Car is driveable. it pukes no matter if I turn right or left. the hose appears to be fine. the return hose is brand new. I'm going to try a newer pump. This is frustrating. I hate to have to try another pump, but what else to do. I should have just bought new stuff from classic and been done with it.
