I don't have the veh with me so I can't check this.. but I'm wondering if someone might be able to answer this question...

The stock carburetor, is it electric or manual choke?  I'm looking to upgrade to an Edelbrock one and there's two different ones that pull up.

Thanks

My guess is that it would be neither.  It would be thermally activated with a temperature dependent spring (I assume bimetallic) that would be in spot near the exhaust cross over in the manifold.  At least this is the technology used in my 1970 383.

I see this on the web.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I would not consider an Eddy Carb to be an upgrade , virtually anything is better

ACUDANUT

I'd change intake manifold and go with a Holley 600-650.
