There is a 1966 Dodge Charger for sale in Saskatchewan for sale that came from the states 20 years ago possibly stolen it has a non existent serial number I can't get the pictures to download serial number is cp29g6i238455 and it's printed on the serial tag on an angle it's a 383 4speed car with ac and is a coppery brown color

Yes that's the one you don't find it weird that the vin doesn't compute anywhere on decoder pages

I said the the seller the vin number doesn't exist and then asked if he has the build sheet and fender tag he wouldn't answer me

I don't understand the issue with the VIN.  Please explain.  I'm more impressed to see air conditioning on a four speed car.  That would be rare on a '66.

Have to ask... where did you see "cp29g6i238455"?  The vin tag shows XP29G61238455, as posted above by 6bblgt.

The C and X buttons are beside each other on the key board so maybe a typing error
And all little letters so maybe they thought the ONE was an I so it comes up as i when using little letters
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

Yes, I thought of it possibly being a typo on the op's part. However, if he saw "XP" and typed "CP" by mistake, what made him think it is a "non existent serial number"?

I read it as if he knew XP was correct for a Charger and CP was not, so therefore could not be a good vin with CP in it.  :shruggy:

Yes, the 1/i is an easy mistake to make, but since that is the plant code, it would not be an obvious sign of a "non existent serial number" like the XP/CP would.

I made a typo but I entered the vin number into the dodge decoder engine and the vin was non existent tried 3 different engines I think someone switched vins before the Internet was around
