Old airplane guys do it too. This fellow traded a bunch of parts to get more useful parts for his 1920s biplane. What he got included this engine. It wasn't really what he had wanted, but he knew exactly what it was.

With it, he built this.....the only flying copy in the world.

I thought the EAA had one in their museum that was flying around the country for awhile.  Still, have to admire the craftsmanship and commitment.

There may be others. This one's in Rhinebeck, NY.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I believe he and his wife landed (I assume that plane outfitted with pontoons) way up north in Churchill Manitoba in the early thirties while on their way to baker lake.

That's really cool, it looks great! Did you get any pics of the interior?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Here's the seat, and.....

that famous plumbing job.

Holy crap, he even replicated the plumbing job! That's amazing. I wonder how many times he's flown it?

Thanks for sharing the pics.
