I think I have tried everything, but let me know what else I can try ?

HP NX6320
W7 SP1 32 bits
SIIG NN-PC8353 ( 2 1394b and one 1394a )

the Laptop sees it when I plug it with the window drivers, but it seems no controlled asigned, nor the safe extract option on tool bar.

searching drivers I have tried what I have found on the web.

Installed the Texas Instrument host controller OHCI 1394 ( Legacy )... worked two times lats night, today, it falls on blue screen

Tried the driver provided by SIIG, although it states for Version 1 and 2... I simply downloaded the only one for W7 32 bits. Installed a driver what gave me an  UB switch application or something like that, can't recall... it was able to switch between the windows controller and the one he drives... didn't work either... blue screen too using its own driver

used a Driver solution package software which found a driver for OHCI 1394b by texas instrument... worked couple of times, then began to fall into blue screen too

Is it posible is a hardware failure more than a driver failure ?

also getting problems installing Office... mostly of the times can't find the word.es-es\WordMUI.msi... file is there but installer can't find it. Sometimes is another error. Have tries 2 Office 2007 and 2 Office 2010 DVDs each.

Need to say I have to keep this Laptop for two reasons:

I will be using my EMU 1616m cardbus AD/DA interface, so need to keep my old laptop with the PCMCIA slot

I have no money neither to buy another laptop or get a new Audio Interface to match the port on a new laptop ( whichever will be, Firewire 800, USB, Thunderbolt... )

In the past I've had trouble installing software(and sometimes OS's) because of a defective hard drive.  :Twocents:

Hard drive is new. Motherboard too

Just to be sure, I would go back thru the machine and try to push every connection together again and reseat every chip I replaced.  Also try to make sure every pin on each chip is inserted and not bent back.  If it's a new drive it could still be defective.  Good luck.

Mmm good suggestion!

Althought everything is working great BUT that... Including the EMU cardbus
