Heading to Carlisle in July, and I'm looking to buy a new rear bumper for my 68 Charger. There's a few guys out there, Bumper Boyz, Classic Industries, AMD and so-on.
Any feedback on who has the better quality Bumpers and Price ??  :2thumbs:

imo I would stick with finding a OEM  original , that's been replated or get it replated  :Twocents:

I agree, the reviews about the AMD bumpers aren't great.

I found a couple of 68 bumpers, but they all need to be straightened and re-chromed.
Not sure what that process would cost opposed to a repro.
Any idea what that would cost ??
here's another question, how would the people who re-chrome know what the correct bends or contours of the bumper should be ?? :popcrn:

Agree with above, always stick with original and get re-chromed.  :2thumbs:

Ok, thanks for the advice.  I'm in North Jersey, can anyone recommend a place that straightens and re-chromes bumpers ? travelling isn't an issue.

It all depends on your direction with the car.  The AMD bumpers in my opinion are good for the money.  The plating is not a show chrome finish, so if that is your direction, I would  search out a plater.  We have been using Tri City, AMS Obselete and Advance Plating.  Tri City will be located in spaces J106 through J115.  AMS Obselete will be at Carlisle and will be just left of the grandstands in the first row, not exactly sure of the space numbers and AMD is just right of the food court.  AMS and Tri City are in the mid range of pricing.  Using Advance or Paul's, the price reflects the quality.  I have never had a Bumper Boys bumper, but the reviews are not good.  I will have a pair of 68 to 70 rears in our spaces H129 through H143.  Good luck.

I am sure there will be some folks attending in the rechroming business. There is one shop I see at many larger shows (Bumper Boys?). They haul around rechromed bumpers for all sorts makes and models. They always have Charger rear bumpers when I have looked.

I just ordered goodmark bumpers, I dont need them to be super show quality and them being a little thinner means they are a little lighter and so will my car. I got the rear shipped to my door for 199.00 dollars from rockauto and the front for 299.00 from a2zparts

now if I could find someone to do black chrome on bumpers that'd be sweet...

btw I have front and rear bumpers for sale. need some straightening and rechromed..
