What's everyone using? My trans doesn't want to downshift when cold , think it's the oil. Fine when warmed up.
God must love stupid people....he made a sh**load of 'em....

Matco tools...guaranteed for a lifetime. Just not a human lifetime.

I tried the Redline GL4 synthetic 80-90 and will be changing it soon. It did help with the shifting when the fluid was new and fresh but it began leaking all over the place.

I used to use auto trans fluid in my GM transmission. I don't know that it would suit the Mopar four speed though.  :scratchchin:

Went with the Redline and pulled it in 2 weeks, leaked where it had not leaked before. Switched to Brad Penn GL4. Much better now :icon_smile_cool:

Good ol' 80w90 here.

The key is for it to have the gl4 rating. Not compatible with , but actual gl4 rating. Buddy of mine is a whiz with these transmissions, that's where I got this info and real experience from that says he is 100 %!correct

x2, many of the GL-5 oils have anti-friction additives that are harmful to the bronze/brass parts in a transmission.
