It was either stolen to be shipped to Europe or The Middle East... or stolen for the parts.

One of the original James Bond DB5 cars was stolen back in 1997. The story of the theft was amazing.

Stored an aircraft hanger, doors lock, alarm on. Not to mention all the gates at the airport required codes to get in.

The thieves got onto the grounds, bypassed the alarm, picked the locks, and then disappeared with the (at the time) $4,000,000 car! Many suspect it ended up in the garage of some Sheik in the middle east.

Don't people like this shiek show off their collections to the world, at some point?

TruckDriver

Don't forget Kenny Wayne Shepard's '72 Charger. No one has found that yet either. That was stolen 2 year ago out of a locked secure garage if I remember right.

I'm guessing these cars to Dubai or south America where it is hard to track them down

Not exactly the same league as those other cars. A totally different thief. Those cars have two more decimal places in them.  :Twocents:

yeah I see what your saying  with the middle east  mob &  Dubai ,    although would not have thought these guys don't need to have cars stolen for them , they are loaded with  money & can buy  them legit  :shruggy:

For normal every day production cars sure. But many of these guys want the unique items for their collections. Art, artifacts, cars, women, etc.

Steve Juliano does not strike me as the kind of guy a person would want to knowingly steal a car from.

FY1 Charger

The thought of somebody stealing and parting out a persons car is disgusting. I hope the find the car unharmed and the people who stole it have a horrible time in prison.

Like everyone, I hope that the car is recovered or insurance covers his loss, but man, that's got to be the ugliest Hemi Cuda ever made.

GOTWING

You just think it's ugly because of the green interior !  :smilielol:

Perhaps.  But everyone looks twice.

I like it.. plus it's basically been in my back yard it's whole life since George owned it, It was sitting in a local trailer park filled with bags of garbage with no motor or trans when he got it around 83. He painted it plum crazy and put a black vinyl top on it, with a Ray Barton hemi I remember when he tore off the mod top, yeah back then it was just dumb looking but today I love it. :D Before he got it it was for sale near me sitting out on the highway around 78 for $1,200 complete and running, no one wanted it for that "insane amount" the earliest anyone remembers it is around 72 when it was on the lot for sale in Dover De. I have tons of home videos I tapped of the car at the track turning in the 10's.

That mod-top is just putrid.

Just found out today one of my friends actually sold Steve that mod top fabric.    Dude's kind of a hoarder.

As I said over on C-C.com

Sadly there are douchebags that would steal the mona lisa to hang in their bathroom. This car will likely wind up in said douchebags garage....

I'm reading into that, along with the news feed that he'd loaded 3 other cars and came back to find the expensive one gone... that some may think someone wanted it to disappear.  :shruggy:
