1970 Dodge Charger 500... with a twist

This build has only estimated 300 km on it. It's in mint shape with a 68 front end. Interior has been redone and the car was painted 3 years ago. Over 50 grand invested. Appraised at $43,500

The seller was asking $43,000 for it at one time.  :shruggy:

The price might not be too far off the mark if they painted the engine bay right and had a correct 1970 front end on the car. It would be better if they would have just welded over all 4 marker light holes rather than to have them mismatched.

Of the three 2nd generation cars. I still like the '68 front end best. However I thing the '70 tail is the best too.

I would have probably matched the side markers to the '68 version though. I also would have eliminated the check mark chrome since there is no vinyl top on it.

All are pretty minor details though. In terms of the price... I think many people don't really want to sell and rather than selling it for the true worth of the vehicle... You are paying what it is worth to them to let go of it.

All of these cars are a labor of love and in most cases the emotion is what drives the dollars spent to build them because it is almost always more than what the car is worth in the end. I spent 26K on mine not including any labor so it really isn't too far fetched when I see one "completed" listing in the 30' or so.

The ones I see needing full restorations or in pieces selling for 22k + are the ones that need to go for a pee test though.
