Never seen one restored to factory correct here in the UK, gonna do mine soon, anyone got any pics of one. Was it plated, painted or bare metal ?

Mine was painted or at least heavy over spray.  Check out this thread on page 7 close to the bottom.  It's what I did including making a new spring.  I haven't dipped the handle yet.

I had mine black zinc plated, turned out nice. Check hemi69.com, great info in there.

69hemi.com is good for resto I often look on there. Saw a hood latch in a 68 charger today black phosphate coating was in good condition on it.
