Ok, this may be a ridiculous question, and I did try to do a search before i'm about to ask it.  How does the rear valance attach to the 74 charger.  I have always noticed mine sits a little cockeyed.  I have started doing the bodywork and as I was sanding, I noticed the previous owner tack welded it on.  I know its not factory welds because my 9 year old could tack weld better than this.  Also, are there supposed to be brackets behind it to make it more rigid?  I have nothing supporting it besides the tack welds on either side.  Any info is greatly appreciated.

I'm not entirely sure on a 74 but on my 70 (all 70's?) the rear valance is tack welded on by the factory and the welds aren't pretty.

E5 Charger

It's not welded at all. It is bolted at the ends and on two brackets in the middle.
