Hello All!
has anyone ever traded one car for another?... straight across or with a little sweetening one way or the other?...

I've been thinking of it recently and would like some opinions and/or advice,..

Thanks in advance.
Strat!

Never traded a car for a car, but I traded a 1970 Coronet for a set of chrome magnum wheels & $75 cash. It ran & drove as well as being in decent shape. The only thing wrong was the wipers didn't work. I tried to get some interest in a trade on my Coronet ragtop, even for some parts or a motor, but nobody bit. I may advertise it again soon & see what happens.

Want to trade your Charger for it Strat? I'll even deliver it.  :D

I traded a 383/727 that came from a '67 Charger that a friend gave me, for a '69 road runner body with new 1/4 skins.

I traded a early nineties one ton passenger van (Dodge) for a 4 cyl. Charger and a late 70's Celica when I was cash strapped and couldn't afford the van.

i traded a stock 68 340 short block (had like $100 in it) for a 68 valiant body with fiberglass fenders and lift off hood..put in a rear from an M body an sold it fer $450.   traded a 360 i had $250 in for a set of 4 single 15 sansui home speakers (worth like $300) plus $200 cash to boot.these were both in the last few years, ive done tons of "horse traiding" over the years. when i was 19 i traded my first charger for a stove and fridge cuz i neaded them and didnt have the cash. i did eventualy get it back for a while, but it was eventualy made into a stock car cuz it was too rotten to save.

I'm the master at trading cars, almost as good as finding them....  I traded a mint 1988 Camaro RS (with a thrashed v6 that I had just bought a week before for $500, caught the owner hungover at the right time) for a 1968 Charger RT (auto) that was missing the drivetrain and driver's front fender.  It is now almost complete, except for a correct radiator.  The trade went down because a friend drove my black 83 Z-28 and liked it so much, he wanted the red one really bad for a project car.  He still has the Camaro and it is his favorite hot rod.  I also have traded away two 69-70 Charger front clips (with a complete 69 grille) and a rear section to get my 1966 HP2 Satellite project several years ago.  The parts have gone up in price almost as fast as the value of the hemi body, so I think it was an overall fair trade across the board.........

   Way back when around 1992, I traded a running '71 340 Duster for a non running '68 Charger R/T 440 4-speed Dana B-5 blue, sold it for $2100 a year later.

Traded a 68 green AMC Ambassador 4 door, actually very nice shape, for a red '86 Mazda 626  5 speed. [ maybe 1997]

Traded with my buddies Girlfriend -she liked the ambassador, and I was thinking at the time that this old fuddy dud car, although I thought it was cool, would not help me get a girlfriend. Plus the Mazda would be a better "commuter"

In The 626 one day me and 3 friends were going out and a Camaro in the next lane [ maybe a 305 cu in {?} -it was a V8] was revving us at the stoplight.  I launched the 626 and totally crushed the Camaro for about 1/8 mile till the next stoplight, it was hilarious ! ;D   We were jeering and laughing at the dude, he looked dumbfounded + embarrased.   That was the best time in that Mazda. Sold it to another buddy later in the yr for $600.

On a related note- If I was willing to trade my integrity and maybe friendship - I could've hooked up with the Owner of the 626.  She was pretty cute !
But I stayed true to the guy friend, we are still buds 10 yrs later and she is ??

you prolly shuld have gone for it, if she's willin to cheat on him then she doesnt deserve your friend. so if she was guna be gone you might as well shagg her...dunno if your friend would have agreed lol

Look at the bright side, you already get the flat hood for the Shaker hood kit, and your flat hood saves you a core charge. :icon_smile_big:
