 hi
removed my trim rings (magnum 500 roadwheels ) to give them a proper polish and now having trouble putting/ keeping them on  :brickwall:

they either spring off on one side when you hammer on the other or when it looks like they are on I'll go away and then hear a clang and go out to find one or two have fallen off  :shruggy:

what's the trick to  putting them back on and making these things stay put  :pullinghair:

TPR ,
I had a dodge Phoenix like that with full wheel covers ,
Trick is to put your knee to one side while thumping the other side in
Always worked for me

...and you gotta have your tongue out to the correct side just so.........

Equal pressure as far spread out as you can. Easier said than done right? With my old ones I had my wheels flat on the floor so I centered the trim ring, placed my feet on the tires' sidewal and did a little hop to land on either side of the ring and it popped right in. You may not want to do this with a nice set of rings though.

Knee on one end, meaty part of the hands on the opposite side and push that sucker on there. A rubber mallet will make short work of it but you risk denting the ring of course.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
