My original carb. is a Carter 4617. I heard somewhere that the cfm. was about 670. Anybody know if that is correct ?

Came in 625 and 750 versions.

Thanks,  I have a 12 yo Aftermarket Carter 750 on it now  and it  "feels" a little rich even floored, I know it could be other things but that was my first thought.

I still contend that any CFM numbers for factory Carter carbs is merely a WAG. Show me published data from a reliable OEM source.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

the stock carter AVS was 625cfm on the 440 magnum motor, at least according to what I read when I researched it. still have my stock carb on the shelf, complete with tag, currently using a performer 750.
69 RT/SE Y3 cream yellow w/tan vinyl top and black r/t stripe. non matching 440/375, 3:23, Column shift auto w/buddy seat, tan interior, am/fm w/fr to back fade, Now wears 17" magnum 500 rims and Nitto tires. Fresh repaint, new interior, new wheels and tires.

If the original WAS a 625 for cruising a 650 would work just fine.

If I remember right it was microfiche at a library going through old magazines, but could have been in few dodge/mopar books I have, looked it up more than 10 years ago though, not planning on doing it again.  The only 750 cfm carb I was aware of was for later model mopars with a thermoquad, for 69's we had the option of the AVS Carter, which was on my car (auto+AC)and the 3x2 six pack for other models besides charger in 69.

I think that would be a fun "play day" project John !
Closer to spring, I am going to flow my 4618 " auto" version just for shits and giggles.
I was going to put a kit in it anyways, so good opportunity to throw it up on the new bench and see what it Flows on the new SuperFlow SF750 Bench.
