I canceled my policy with Hagerty since they kept jacking up the price for no reason.  The policy ended a few weeks after I took the front end apart so I knew it wasn't going anywhere.  Still I wanted it covered just in case.  My homeowner's insurance did not cover it but for an additional $150/year it would be.  Insurance in Michigan is expensive so that was a good deal.  Much better than the nearly $450 for Hagerty for a value of $30K.

That sounds a little off to me i pay about $250 a year for the same amount of coverage and i made a claim with them a few years back with hagerty

over here the government took the option off the table. we now have "compulsory third party insurance"(green slip) included with rego .

so you have to have your pink slip (roadworthy), and your green slip  (insurance) before you can register your car .

sounds good until you figure out that rego's went from $200 to $900 or more  :eek2:

Michigan has no fault insurance so our premiums are higher.  I paid $300 just two years ago so I dropped Hagerty.  Grundy will insure my car for under $300 and allow me to drive it to work and school so that's who I'm going with this year.

I pay over $900 a year for a car I might drive 30 days of the year.
Still, I would never consider being without it.
