Fitech Fuel Injection Commments?

Has anyone installed a Fitech fuel injection system on your car yet?
A friend has enlisted me to install one on his '70 Charger 440, and I just wanted to check to see if anyone else had done it yet, and if so, any things to watch for, or tips for an easy install.
Looking at the instructions and videos, it looks fairly straightforward to install, very similar to the MSD Atomic EFI unit I have on my Nova. We have decided to install the FI pump back at the tank, rather than use the Command Center and have to find a place to mount it under the hood. Besides, the fewer components in the fuel system, the less change of having a problem.
I plan on removing the mechanical pump and the pushrod and putting a block off plate in it's place. Not eing much of a Mopar guy, it looks like there is a pipe plug below the pump mounting pad the I can take out to remove the pump pushrod. I didn't think it would be wise to leave it in with the mechanical pump removed.

I just got finished installing one of Silver Sport's 4L60E transmissions in it. The overdrive will keep the revs down when cruising withe 3.91 rear gears and save some gas.
I am also finishing up replacing both the from and rear crank seals, as both were leaking and making a mess under the car. While I had the oil pan off I dropped a couple of rod and main bearings just to make sure they were in good shape. The engine was built by a couple of grease monkeys locally, and judging by some of their handywork on the outside of the engine, I was naturally concerned about the internals.

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Leave the fuel pump pushrod in place, won't hurt a thing.

If your goal is "fewer components in the fuel system" you won't reduce the number of components with the rear-mounted pump when you factor in the return regulator and it's plumbing.
