Replace or repair the inner fender on 73

I have the usual rusted out spot below the battery tray and am trying to decide wether to fix the fender or replace it. I have the upper and side radiator support brackets out and the damaged area measures about 4" wide by 4.5" deep, the reset of the fender is fine.
So should I replace or repair and I will be doing the repair myself and my welding skills are not the best.

Good place to practice welding in a patch as when the battery box is back on no one can see it 

Do you think your car will be worth more if you change the whole inner fender vs just welding in a small square patch ??

Not really, it is a 73 Rallye 340, so I think I will just do the patch, thanks.
