Hello. Working on a '75 Cordoba, 360 engine.  Heads have been off the car for 3 years. About to rebuild it, and the cylinders have all turned rusty. How should I clean this before reassembly?

You are rebuilding the whole motor or just throwing the heads back on?

How rusty? And do you really love this car? I've seen some stuff run that really shouldn't - but I can't tell you how long it lasted.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Personally, I'd pull the crank and pistons out regardless of how rusty the cylinders were, and run a cyl. hone down each one lightly.  A set of bearings and rings are a kick in the bucket to what it'd cost to replace the whole engine.

I believe that'd be the best. I guess it'll just wait a little bit.  I appreciate all the feedback. Anyone planning on hitting the Hot Rod Power tour? :)

Sooo... I'm getting around to ordering the parts to rebuild this engine. Any idea on wheres the cheapest, and easiest way to get a basic rebuild kit? I'm putting new heads on it, and a new oil pump. I'll need every gasket,  and possibly the bearings... unsure if I'll replace those
