Bouncing ampmeter guage

ive changed it to electronic,with elc ing.It was fine for years then it started this bouncing. The head lights pulse also.I had the alt rebuilt,said it was the diodes.

Voltage regulator bad grounds bulkhead  terminal  connections loose alt belt just a few that might cause flucuations. Amp gauge connection clean and tight.Battery test ok

I'd start by checking the bulkhead connector on the firewall.  I had a similar situation happening with mine, and the positive spade was completely melted and making intermittent contact in addition to creating a great deal of heat.  Common problem with these vehicles where the factory tried to pass something like 30-40 amps through a relatively small spade connector.  I disconnected my ammeter completely and ran a heavy gauge wire through the connector and tied everything together under the dashboard with a bolt to carry the amperage sufficiently.  Add a voltmeter to keep tabs on your charging system and everything will be much safer and more efficeint.  Good luck.

 you should bolt both sides of you amp to one side bypassing one trouble spot and do the "parallel wiring mod " that should  solve most of your worries
