My employer is sending my back to the other side of the world again but this time they decided I needed to stay a few extra days and meet (ie "train") some other employees in Sydney. I'll be in Melbourne (again) for part of the last week of January then hop on a plane to Sydney Friday night - which means I'll actually have a whole weekend (for once!) to do touristy stuff before working Monday-Wednesday. It's a short trip but definitely better than the original plan which was 80 hours of travel to spend 3 days in Melbourne. :eek2: When I go back in May it will be strictly Melbourne so this is probably my one shot to see something else.

What can I get myself into?

lots ,  stroll around china town, the rocks ,   circular key ,catch a ferry  to Taronga zoo, you  get to see the city/opera house /harbour bridge   from the harbour(the best in the world )  and see one of our really good zoo's . that's a day trip from the centre of Sydney , depends where your staying. if out of Sydney catch a train to central station and go from there  .

someone from Sydney can give you more info ,I know we've got a few members from there  :yesnod:

You could do the bridge walk on the coat hanger.

If you can I would also check out Aussie Muscle Car Sales and check out some of the rare Aussie and American muscle cars.

I worked and travelled 8 months in Australia, what an amazing country and people!!!
Wish I could go back but plane tickets for 3 people and accommodation would break my bank.

Well, work covers everything that's directly related to work (travel, hotel, meals, etc.). Sometimes I can add a few days to either end of a trip for "vacation" and then I only have to pay for those out of pocket. The biggest expense is the plane tickets! The nice part about this trip is getting there a day early AND I actually have a whole weekend in the middle where I don't have to actually work (usually we work the entire time - nights, weekends, etc. - and travel on the weekend). I've been checking the social calendars. Most of the things are stuff my parents would enjoy.
