when I bought the car in about 2000 or so, it had Christmas tree lights in it. I'm not kidding, in the dash. it sat since about '86. too bad they weren't 12 volt. I guess the installers disco dreams didn't come true.

  Are you starting to rebuild it?  If so, what's the game plan?

It will be interesting to see where they got the material from. They typically take it from the seats and back side of the headliner. I can't tell you how many mummified mice I have found under headliners...

PS- As gross as it sounds, you may want to sift through that stuff. I have found pieces of broadcast sheets and other paper materials left by the factory workers inside the car make their way into those nests.

I have a post in the performance section on the engine. otherwise, I put in a 4 speed. rebuilt the dash. have a whole new interior for it. was going to go white inside, but going with black. anyone interested in white  front door panels w/pockets? anyways, have a front end rebuild kit, new torsion bars, and rear springs. and tons of other parts I've been collecting for over 10 yrs. anyone looking for a white headliner?

they got it from the drivers front seat. bottom. not far to haul it. I did buy some seat covers on ebay years ago. both black and white. both sets buckets. not totally factory correct, but close. they were cheaper and was low on cash at the time.
