What should my spare look like?

Might be a silly question to some, but what should the spare wheel look like for my 69?  I've heard that the area where the lug nuts bolt is suppose to be flat.  Now a couple other questions.
Should I look for a date code by the stem hole?  If so, what would it be for a 6/2 build date ie: letters / numbers?
Would I be able to find one only from a B-body with 14" wheels or would a 69  A ,E or C body work?  I'm not that astute with the interchanging of part #'s for it to be correct.
I just want to have the correct wheel.
